The tournament room is filling up once more here at the Monte Carlo Bay Resort and Hotel as the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final series rolls forward with another slate of side event action. While the start of the €100,000 Super High Roller grabs much attention, most of those here are playing Day 1B of the France Poker Series Monaco Main Event, the last of two Day 1 flights for the €1,100 buy-in event.

Yesterday saw 265 play Day 1A of FPS Monaco, with Moldova’s Valeriu Coca ending the night bagging 212,400, the most chips of the 85 who survived.

Closest to Coca in the counts were Oleg Vayman (189,000), Ricardo Graells (173,300), Simeon Sundelius (162,700), and Sergio Braga (150,500), with Simon Deadman (133,000) and Kevin MacPhee (116,400) not far behind. Click here for a full list of end of Day 1A counts.

Last night there were already more than 300 confirmed to play today’s Day 1B, and with four levels’ worth of late registration we’re expecting quite a few more to join the fun. In fact, it’s clear from a first pass that there are way more than that already in their seats.

Last year’s FPS Monaco Main Event champion Yury Nesterenko — who then went on to win FPS Cannes last October — is playing today.

Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari is also on the Day 1B list, as are 2014 WSOP Main Event champion Felix Stephensen, EPT Prague winner Arnaud Mattern, Polish pop star Wojciech Lozowski, and EPT Deauville final tablist Joseph Carlino.

The de Meulder brothers, Christophe and Matthias, are tweeting about last longer bets today as well among Belgian players, so we expect to see them representing the red spade here, too. The first hands of the day are just being dealt. Check the FPS Main Event reports all day for start-to-finish updates on Day 1B action.
