Home / Uncategorized / Sunday Warm-Up: Ravishing Ravishka notches win and $85K after two-way deal

Now that the roses are safely in a vase and yesterday’s Valentine’s Day dinner leftovers are sitting in the fridge it’s was time to earn back those funds. The $500,000 Sunday Warm-Up was the choice for 2,929 players to shore up their bankrolls. Two players would go away happier than others as NigDawG and Ravishka worked out an even two-way deal after over ten hours of play. While the stacks started nearly even after the deal, Ravishka would pull away claim the title and $85,254.94.

Down to the final two tables Aleks “Berkyy” Brkovic was looking to add yet another Major final table at PokerStars. Brkovic won the Super Tuesday back in July along with making the final table here twice. But, a third time would need to wait as “Berkyy” collected $1,903.85 in 16th place.

Former Sunday Warm-Up champ ShiFtYFiNGeR would follow Brkovic out the door in 15th place ($2,782.55). A few minutes later only 13 players would enjoy a five minute break before the push to the final table.

Down to hand-for-hand play SEFI123 would shove a shortstack after flopping 5♣ 10♣ 2♣ top pair 10♠ J♥ against feeneeck. Covering the small bet, feeneeck called with the nut flush draw A♣ 6♥ which promptly caught on the turned 3♣ starting up the final table below:

Seat 1: DrTommek (4933465 in chips)
Seat 2: feeneeck (2412949 in chips)
Seat 3: batoelrob (2237433 in chips)
Seat 4: Ravishka (3736236 in chips)
Seat 5: NigDawG (3270705 in chips)
Seat 6: grandy14 (2436513 in chips)
Seat 7: salaliitto (1769115 in chips)
Seat 8: hello_totti (6011695 in chips)
Seat 9: FizzimeiBua (2481889 in chips)

The theme of the night seemed to be patience as the final nine jockeyed for position versus sprinting down the straightaway. However, after 35 minutes three consecutive eliminations would downsize the race from nine to six.

First, with the blinds up to 80K/160K ante 16K Ravishka would apply big stack pressure by pushing 6.2 million chips from the button as shortstacked grandy14 made a decision to call all-in from the big blind holding pocket nines 9â™  9♥ . Ravishka’s J♥ A♥ would flop two pair 10â™  J♦ Aâ™  4â™  2♦ knocking grandy14 out in ninth place ($4,686.40).

On the next hand NigDawG, who already owns a Super Tuesday title, would re-shove after DrTommek’s early position push with 10♦ A♥ . NigDawG’s pocket eights 8♣ 8♥ held up on the 3♣ 3â™  4♦ 7♥ Qâ™  board surgically removing DrTommek from the table in eighth place ($7,615.40).

Hello_totti watched a big stack move fall just right after shoving from the small blind for 6.2 million with 6♦ 4♦ . FizzimeiBua holding three million chips and A♣ Q♠ quickly called but a six on the turn 3♠ 10♠ 9♠ 6♥ J♥ sent FizzimeiBua away in seventh place ($13,473.40).

The players clearly did not relax during the tenth hourly break as six hands later NigDawG would take out feeneeck in sixth place ($19,331.40). Two hands after that salaliitto failed to double-up against Ravishka earning $25,189.40 in fifth place.

Ravishka continued the accent into a solid chip lead three hands later after winning an eight million chip flip against batoelrob. Batoelrob is no stranger to big final tables making the WCOOP 2013 Event #33 final table, but will go home without a title again earning $33,683.50 in fourth place.

The final three made a few whispers in the chat box about a deal but thirty minutes later all three were still shooting for that $91K. One thing that did not change was Ravishka’s hold on the chip lead which continued to grow along with the blinds. At one point Ravishka would amass two-thirds of the chips in play while applying pressure on hello_totti and NigDawG.

But, the shortstacks fought back to flatten the chip counts across the table for a bit. Ravishka would come back and chip away at both with aggressive preflop play as NigDawG and hello_totti decided to combine their stacks for a shot at Ravishka and the weekly title.

With the blinds up to 200K/400K ante 40K hello_totti would shove 6.4 million over a min-raise by NigDawG. Holding big slick K♥ A♦ NigDawG made the call, flipping against hello_totti’s pocket sevens 7♥ 7♣ . The ace in the middle of the 4♦ 6♣ Aâ™  10♥ 3♣ board shipped the 13.4 million chip pot to NigDawG while sending $48,633.11 to hello_totti in third place.

One hand after the big pot NigDawG and Ravishka were happy to take a 50/50 split leaving $10K on the board for the champion.

NigDawG: $75,254.95
Ravishka: $75,254.94

After the deal Ravishka would quickly jump out to a 20.4 million to 8.8 million chip lead after calling NigDawG’s river bluff with a flopped pair of queens.

Ten minutes later Ravishka got aggressive after NigDawG limped from the button by shoving all-in while holding a 23.2 million to six million chip lead. NigDawG’s trap with kings Kâ™  K♣ seemed to work by snap calling against Ravishka’s 7♥ A♥ . Two hearts on the flop 8♥ J♥ 10♦ was like watching a horror movie when you already know the ending. Sure enough a third heart fell on the turn 4♥ cracking NigDawG’s kings. With the nut flush Ravishka scooped up the extra $10K for a total of $85,254.94 as this week’s Sunday Warm-Up champion!
