While most eyes will undoubtedly be on Day 1B of the EPT Main Event, there are several other events also going on today as part of the EPT Deauville Poker Festival. The €500 + €500 Turbo Bounty started today at 2pm with a total of 182 runners including Ondrej Vinklarek, Frederik Jensen, Jorma Nuutinen, Laurent Polito, Robert Auer and Alessio Isaia. They’ve just reached the money with 39 places being paid a minimum of €570 for 39th and €16,600 for the winner, this is before you take into account the €500 each player receives when they knock out an opponent. Among those still in with 27 players remaining are Dominik Nitsche and Anton Wigg.

Nitsche was short-stacked and David Vamplew was awaiting the German’s exits so they could head for dinner together but after a flurry of activity at the table Nitsche shouted, “You’d better go for dinner David, I’ve doubled up to 100,000.”

Players who’ve already cashed in this tournament include Max Pescatori (39th – €570) and former PCA winner Dimitar Danchev (31st – €650).

Danchev has jumped straight into the €2,000 Turbo 8-Handed event which has just gotten underway with a total of 52 runners so far, although this is expected to increase as players bust both Day 1B of the EPT Main Event and the previously mentioned Turbo Bounty. Other players spotted in this one-day tournament include Adrian Mateos and Mat Frankland.

In satellite news, EPT Madrid champion Frederik Jensen is one of three players who have just won an EPT main event seat in today’s €1k Last Chance Hyper turbo satellite.

Several events finished late last night, the largest being the Deauville Poker Cup won by Tim van Leeuwen of the Netherlands for €62,400. The Dutchman beat a field of 1,138 to win the tournament, just a year after his brother Niels van Leeuwen won FPS Deauville. Niels also made it into the money, eventually cashing in 47th place for €1,070. Team PokerStars Pro Matthias De Meulder (81st – €750) and Paul Berende (72nd – €750) were also among the 175 players who cashed.

In the €500 Seniors Event, Jesper Hansen of Denmark won €13,100 after beating EPT10 London runner-up Georgios Karakousis to the title. There were 106 players in this tournament with 15 places paying a minimum of €860.

In Event#14 €1k Turbo PLO, Frenchman Anthony Cruz beat former November Niner Sylvain Loosli heads-up to win a first prize of €19,400 with 72 players taking part in a tournament that paid 11 places.

Finally, the €200 Men’s Event saw a whopping 284 players get involved and it was unable to be finished in one day. The final table came back this afternoon and it was eventually won by Neividas Biriukovas of Lithuania who picked up €10,900. A total of 39 places were paid and, after yesterday’s controversy, three women cashed in the event (Muriel Wolff – 12th €830, Melanie Benedetti – 13th €830 and Sylvie Guercio – 15th €750).
