A day full of action here in Deauville has finally come to a close a little later than scheduled due to a prolonged bubble period. At the start of the day there were 658 players, but over the course of eight one-hour levels approximately 500 of those have fallen by the wayside.

Sebastien Hattab will go into Day 3 as the chip leader

With so much going on, particularly during a frenetic bubble period, it was hard to discern who was leading. When the dust settled it was Sebastien Hattab who finished the day at the top with 723,000. Other notables remaining include Team PokerStars Pro Online Ronan Monfort (121,000), the sole remaining representative of PokerStars going into Day 3. Other players still in include Gaelle Garcia Diaz (405,000), David Vamplew (178,000), Arnaud Mattern (120,000) and Ilan Boujenah (269,000).

Team PokerStars Pro Christophe De Meulder and Team PokerStars Online Gabriel Nassif were early casualties at the start of Day 2 while Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier and Julian Brecard would join them on the rail just before the money bubble.

The bubble itself was suitably epic, the hand-for-hand part of the tournament lasting for over an hour leading to a cheeky suggestion from Simeon Naydenov that everyone should just donate ten euros as a bubble-saver. There were a total of ten double-ups before the bubble burst, with Claude Mirval, Stephane Magnani Dossetto and Sabina Hiatulla all busting in the same hand. This meant that two €1,800 prizes were shared between the three and they each went home with €1,200.
