Home / Uncategorized / Weekend Review: Happy holidays for the $5m Sunday Million winner

For those needing a break from the holiday spirit, this past weekend PokerStars had the answer. It came in the form of a sleigh full of Sunday Majors, but also, shining brightly like a star, beckoning poker players from every point on the compass, there was a $5 million guaranteed Sunday Million. Not a bad way to raise a few bucks for New Year.

The proof in the figgy pudding was the 31,439 players who took a seat in what would be the last Major of the year. That meant a guarantee shattering prize pool of $6,287,800 and a first prize of $489,130.83.

As Martin Harris reported a short while ago on the PokerStars Blog, that amount went to eventual winner TrondheimAAA, who took the largest amount from a six way deal, defeating straßenjupp heads-up. It was gripping stuff, and the story of his win is a page turner.

The full result is below:

End of the year it may be, but we’re not exactly winding down. This weekend on PokerStars will be the first of 2015, with the usual Majors. It will also be the last before the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure gets underway in the Bahamas, with the PokerStars Blog bringing live coverage every step of the way from Paradise Island.

You can also look forward to our annual look back on the events of the year, which is coming up on the PokerStars Blog this week. It’s a great way to recap what has proved a memorable year both for PokerStars and the Blog itself, as you see in the New Year.

In the meantime, congratulations to all of this week’s winners.
