Home / Uncategorized / Sunday Warm-Up: Jorryt van Hoof cleans up earning $91K

Another third place finish at a big-time final table?

Not many players get such chances.

Jorryt van Hoof looked to claim a major title that eluded him just a few months ago taking a chip lead into three-handed play during the $500,000 guarantee Sunday Warm-Up. However, a SCOOP champion and DonTrustMe78 stood in his way. Kleath would hold strong finishing third, but van Hoof had something to prove and took down the Sunday Major earning $91,814.29.

Jorryt “TheCleaner11” van Hoof – Sunday Warm-Up Champion ($91,814.29)

Read below for the story behind van Hoof’s victory.

Last year ZAR84 came within two places of winning the MicroMillions6 Main Event, but earned a massive $128,842.57 for just a $22 buy-in. With two tables remaining in the Sunday Warm-Up, ZAR84 would narrowly miss out on a second major final table finishing in 16th place.

Directing attention towards those with chips, SCOOP 2012 Event # 14-H champ kleath enjoyed the chip lead with 13 players remaining. Thanks to 2,924 players creating a $584,800.00 prize pool, kleath only needs to finish third or better tonight to best the $41,391.90 earned while claiming the SCOOP watch.

TheCleaner11 would mop up g_kafouros in 11th place ($3,655.00) kicking off hand-for-hand play just eight minutes into the ninth hour of play. People might recognize Jorryt “TheCleaner11” van Hoof from his third place finish in the recent World Series of Poker Main Event earning $3.8 million or the recent EPT Barcelona high roller.

Pardon if MARIO BG 85 seemed miffed after this bustout on the Sunday Warm-Up final table bubble. With the blinds up to 50K/100K ante 10K all the chips went into the middle after a king-high K♦ 5â™  10♦ flop. MARIO BG 85 holding pocket aces Aâ™  A♦ still leading Jengleleg’s K♣ Q♥ . The 6♦ turn delayed the heartbreak on the Kâ™  river to ship 3.6 million chip pot to Jengleleg starting up the final table below:

Seat 1: TheCleaner11 (4353987 in chips)
Seat 2: A.Saout (1343814 in chips)
Seat 3: DonTrustMe78 (1790848 in chips)
Seat 4: dan82mur (6758213 in chips)
Seat 5: FLBonatto (1696203 in chips)
Seat 6: kleath (4894052 in chips)
Seat 7: Flush_Entity (2791216 in chips)
Seat 8: Jengleleg (3669071 in chips)
Seat 9: yeres (1942596 in chips)

Team PokerStars Online Pro Adrienne “talonchick” Rowsome would let the first two early exits down easy with kind words. FLBonatto (ninth place, $4,678.40) and Jengleleg (eighth place, $7,602.40) would not make it through the ninth hour of play as kleath, dan82mur, and van Hoof separated from the pack.

Griffin “Flush_Entity” Benger eliminated in seventh place

Van Hoof was not the only one at the final table with big live scores. Griffin “Flush_Entity” Benger won EPT London Season Nine’s Event #13 for £29,708 but could not add a Sunday Warm-Up title. With the blinds up to 100K/200K ante 20K Benger shoved all-in for 1.4 million as dan82mur made the call holding 9♣ Aâ™  . Benger’s pocket fours 4♦ 4♥ failed to make it past the flop 9♦ A♥ 6♥ 2â™  A♦ sending Griffin home in seventh place ($13,450.40).

In the midst of winning seven hands in a row propelling the chip leader’s stack into eight digits, dan82mur took out a micro-stacked A.Saout in sixth place ($19,298.40).

Short-lived time on top

dan82mur’s time as the chip leader would last about ten minutes before this huge 17 million chip three-way pot.

Blinds moving up to 125K/250K ante 25K yeres would open all-in for 1.2 million as van Hoof made the call from the cutoff. dan82mur holding pocket queens Q♥ Q♦ moved in for 10.7 million as van Hoof shoved his remaining 6.8 million with kings K♦ K♠ . The three players would miss the 10♣ A♣ 3♥ J♠ 4♦ board shipping the entire 17.6 million chip pot to Jorryt.

yeres was asked to leave in fifth place ($25,146.40) as dan82mur’s stack was reduced to ten big blinds.

Seven hands later dan82mur would try to steal the blinds from the cutoff holding 7♠ 10♦ . However, kleath was there to prevent such robbery and called with pocket tens 10♥ 10♠ . No miracles on the 8♦ Q♥ 3♦ 4♠ K♦ board and dan82mur collected $33,626.00 in fourth place.

$48K for kleath

Apparently kleath has a thing for Crown Royal as Rowsome pointed out:

talonchick -TeamOnline-: Third spot for kleath, congrats on $48,550.09. That’ll buy some Crown and Straw fanta.

After losing a nine million chip pot to van Hoof, kleath would shove five million on the next hand preflop holding Aâ™  8♦ . DonTrustMe78 called in the big blind with pocket sixes 6â™  6♥ and a six in the door 6♦ 10♥ 3♣ 2♥ 10♦ would end kleath’s run in third place.

Trading bronze for gold

Granted it is not for the title of “World Champion” but winning a Sunday Major at PokerStars is no small feat. Van Hoof would start heads-up play with a 17 million to 12.2 million chip lead and never let go.

Just seven hands later with the blinds up to 250K/500K ante 50K van Hoof had his title. After van Hoof limped from button, DonTrustMe78 would shove 6.5 million holding 8♣ 9â™  . Jorryt had no problem calling with A♣ Q♣ and locked up the win after flopping trips 2â™  Aâ™  A♦ K♦ Q♥ . Jorryt van Hoof is this week’s Sunday Warm-Up champion earning $91,814.29!
