With the Main Event on pause, the side action continues deep into the night at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final, with many tournaments in action at all stages — early, middle, and late.

The darkness falling over the lapping waves outside inspire us to begin with those that have reached their endgames in our late night tourney tour.

Nearly done

The two-day Event #54, the €1,000 NL Single Re-entry, has at last wound down close to a conclusion, moving over to the secondary stage in the main tournament room to finish things out.

Just five players are left from a starting field of 198 entries (167 uniques). Jonas Lauck is the current chip leader with about 650,000, while Luciana Manolea finds herself the short stack at present with about 250,000. Cashers since we last looked in have included Atanas Kavrakov (6th, €9,880), Diogo Cardoso (7th, €7,180), Mikhail Nikolaev (8th, €5,210), Marc Bebawi (9th, €4,300), Peter Akery (10th, €3,650), Andreas Fluri (11th, €3,650), and Denis Krasavin (12th, €3,170).

Event #60, the €1,000 NL Deepstack, attracted 126 players to create a prize pool of €122,220, and with the top 17 players getting paid they’ve just recently burst the money bubble. Fifteen continue the battle, with €30,750 up top for the champ. And Event #62, the €500 pot-limit H.O.R.S.E. tournament, is at a similar stage down to the final four players, the only ones to cash in a 19-player field. A prize of €3,870 sits up top.

In the middle

The €1,000 PLO with a single re-entry Event #63 was one of the late afternoon events to get going, and now they’ve gotten past the late registration stage with 73 players and 14 re-entries creating a total prize pool of €84,390 to be divided among the top 11 finishers. €23,200 goes to the winner.

Over in Event #64, a €1,000 NL turbo, there are 110 players taking part, which means a €106,700 prize pool going to the final 15 and €27,470 going to first.

And a smaller €300 NL turbo — Event #65 — got going a couple of hours ago. That one has 93 players, a prize pool of €27,063, the top 13 making the cash and €4,800 going to first.

Still early

Finally in Event #61 — the €25K High Roller for which you’ve been following the live updates over on our €25K page — they’ve got a little over two levels left to play on Day 1 of 3. At last report there are 190 total entries there, with 159 uniques and 31 re-entries, with late registration open until the start of tomorrow’s Day 2.

€25K High Roller actionDavid Dayan took over the chip lead a couple of hours ago and has maintained it thus far into the night, currently sitting with 270,000. In other words, his day is going a lot better than the photo below suggests.

David DayanDayan’s nearest challengers at the moment are all hovering about 100,000 behind him, a group including Scott Seiver, Joao Vieira, Sorel Mizzi, and Andrew Chen.
