Night has fallen here at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final festival, but the slate of side action continues with several events continuing to play out. We have a couple of winners to share with you, as well as some details from the exciting finish of that packed €5,000 eight-handed pot-limit Omaha event (Event #43).

********Earlier today came Event #44, a €500 no-limit hold’em turbo tournament that attracted 79 runners who together created a €38,315 prize pool.

That field was rapidly carved down over the course of the afternoon and early evening, and eventually it was Elia Hanna of Lebanon claiming all of the chips and the €10,530 first prize.

Elia HannaHanna had already picked up a small cash in the France Poker Series Monaco Main Event earlier this week, so has added nicely to his winnings today. The full payouts:

********Meanwhile the €5K PLO event may have attracted a relatively intimate group of 46 players, but there was plenty of top-flight talent spread among the field, with Davidi Kitai, Dan Smith, Sylvain Loosli, Timo Pfutzenreuter, Max Silver, and Emil Patel among the many familiar faces who didn’t make the final six and the money.

The €5K PLO final tableAmong those who did get that far, Justin Bonomo (sixth), Aleksandre Denisov (fifth), and Sam Greenwood (fourth) were the first to go, and at three-handed Scott Seiver was holding the chip lead over Georges Yazbeck and Dermot Blain when an interesting hand arose.

With a board having been dealt Q♥ 10♥ 4♠ J♥ 6♣ , Seiver was in the tank talking through whether or not to call a big push from Yazbeck. After weighing his alternatives Seiver finally said “I call,” turning over two of his four cards — the A♥ and the 5♥ — as he did to signify his ace-high flush.

“Straight flush,” said Yazbeck, showing his hand — K♥ 9♥ 3♦ 3♣ — and suddenly he was the chip leader among the trio.

But Seiver battled back, eventually knocking out a short-stacked Blain in third to make it to heads-up with Yazbeck still holding the advantage. It didn’t take long, though, for Seiver to push back in front, then finally with a better than 8-to-1 lead on Yazbeck the latter was all in before the flop and at risk.

The board ran out J♣ 7♠ 4♦ 8♠ Q♦ , giving both players jacks but Seiver the better kicker, and it was over — Seiver, currently the top-ranked player in the Global Poker Index rankings, had added another tournament victory to his ever-growing résumé.

Scott SeiverThat makes three final tables so far during the festival for Seiver after his eighth-place finish in the €100K Super High Roller (Event #14) and ninth-place showing in the €50K Super High Roller (Event $34).

********We’re also keeping an eye today on the first day of a two-day €2,000 NLHE tournament (Event #46) which drew a field of 263 runners to create a €510,220.

They’ve made it through seven of nine 50-minute levels scheduled for today in that one, with that starting field having been carved roughly in half to about 130 players. We’ll be back a little later to let you know who made it through to Day 2 with the big stacks in that one before signing off tonight.
