The weekend is upon us, which means it’s time to open the enormous ledger to see what we can offer you this weekend by way of encouragement.
For some, simple vengeance is all it takes to get motivated, revenge on the Gods who, for whatever reason decided last Sunday was not your Sunday. But I realise not everyone thinks as bluntly as that, so here’s what’s in store this weekend.

First off, there’s the usual array of Weekend Majors, spread over both Saturday and Sunday. Of course they build up to the Sunday Million, which will once again attract a lot of attention, and with satellites running now offering cheap seats, it will be as well populated as usual. But in terms of the headlines it has a potential rival this weekend.

That comes in the shape of the Sunday Storm, which celebrates its fourth anniversary this weekend. Naturally that means there’s reason to be generous.

First off the Sunday Storm will have a $1 million guaranteed prize pool, and not only that the first prize will be at least $100,000. The buy in doesn’t change though. You get all of this for the same $11, even less if you qualify in one of the satellites now running in the PokerStars tournament lobby.

It all kicks off at 13:30 ET on Sunday, and if you’re running late remember that registration stays open for the first two hours of play. Find our more on the Sunday Storm homepage.

If you happen to be in the Nottingham area this weekend the UKIPT Main Event continues at Dusk Till Dawn, with days 1C and 1D to be played. They follow the first two flights that were played last weekend. It’s an unusual format, with a high roller event (won by the unstoppable Ivan Luca) filling the gap in between, but as always an event well worth playing. And if you’re not taking you can always follow the action, with full coverage from our reporting team on the PokerStars Blog through to the finish.

That should see you through the weekend, when the real fun begins on Monday with the first of four special edition freerolls to celebrate the PokerStars Blog’s tenth anniversary next Friday. If you haven’t already heard we’ll be marking the occasion with a freeroll from Monday to Thursday, which requires nothing more than a password to enter. You’ll find that within each of the feature articles we’re running this week looking back on a decade of the Blog.

We’re excited about it. And while it might not make you rich (relatively speaking) it should at least be a lot of fun.

In the meantime have a great weekend on PokerStars – and a successful one.
