Day 1B – Where a new batch of players will battle it out in search of an APPT Main Event title here in Seoul.

Play commences at 12pm local time and those who survive the eight levels today will join the Day 1A qualifiers for the official Day 2 tomorrow.

Yesterday saw 116 entrants take to the felt and numbers are expected to be even higher today. There were 42 that managed to make the cut last night, and time will tell if we can eclipse that number here for Day 1B.

Tables are set for the Main Event

Players start with 20,000 in chips and will be chasing the United Kingdom’s Alex Ward. An online player with no previous live cashes, Ward ended Day 1A with a substantial chip advantage, bagging up 133,800 at the conclusion of play.

Canadian Tyler Jennens made it through as second in chips with 101,900. Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang also had a good start, ending the day with a top ten chip stack of 79,900.

Players are now wandering in and taking their seats ready for the action. Team PokerStars pros Celina Lin and Kosei Ichinose have joined the field. Lin has almost half a million in live cashes to her name and Ichinose, Japan’s first Supernova Elite, has over two million in online earnings.

Australia’s Stevan Chew has been spotted at one of the tables. Fresh off a runner up finish in an FTOPS event and a second place finish in the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up earlier this year, Chew will be looking for another big score here in Seoul.

Also at the tables for the Main Event is Taiwanese rap artist MC HotDog. With hundreds of thousands of albums sold we’ll see if the rapper can go deep here at in the APPT.
