When one decides to a round with a particular player, one hopes it’s a pivotal round in their day’s exploits at the baize. Poker doesn’t work like that though. Friend of PokerStars Natalie Hof was the subject of this particular post and the round end up being dominated by Roman Bláha, the big-stacked player directly to her left.

Hof began the round in the small blind with 44,000 chips.

A round with the Hof

Hand 1. The action folded around to the cutoff who put in a raise to 725. Bláha defended his big blind to see a 584 flop where both players checked. The board ran out Q2 with Bláha leading for 1,200 and 2,100. The cutoff called the first bet but folded on the river.

Hand 2. Nicolas Fatzer raised to 675 from mid position and was called by Hof on the button ans both blinds. All four players checked the AQ8 flop before a 1,500 Hof bet on the K turn saw all three opponents fold.

Hand 3. Henrik Unverricht raised to 700 from under the gun and was called by Bláha on the button and the small blind. Unverricht continued for 1,800 on the 8JJ flop and was only called by Bláha. The turn was the 6 and Unverricht check-called a 2,500 bet before leading out for 4,500 on the 6 river. Bláha raised to 10,000 and Unverricht snap folded to be shown a jack.

Hand 4. Bláha opened to 600 from the cutoff and called after István Magyar three-bet to 1,700 from the small blind. The flop fell A9[2sd and a Magyar 2,000 c-bet was good for the pot.

Hand 5. A player in the hijack raised to 600 and was called by Magyar and Fatzer in the big blind. Only Fatzer called the 1,700 c-bet to see the 7 turn where he check-folded to a 2,500 bet.

Hand 6. Fatzer completed from the small blind and the big blind checked his option. The flop came 6KJ and Fatzer led for 600. Fold.

Blind level up to 200/400, 50. Half the room went off for their dinner break.

Hand 7. A raise and take from the cutoff.

Hand 8. Bláha opened to 800 from under the gun and picked up fro callers en route to a 4J6 flop. He quickly continued for 2,000 and thinned his opponent to one by the time the turn came as the A. A 3,500 bet did the job and he raked in to the pot.

Bláha dominated that particular round and saw his stack rise to 85,000, good for one of the bigger stacks in the room. He’s still a way behind the tournament chip leader though. Remigiusz Wyrzykiewicz has amassed an impressive 130,000 at last count.

Hof started the round with 44,000 and ended it with 45,200, although she managed to get her stack up to 60,000 by the end of the level. The good news is that her table broke just before her half of the room went on their dinner break, so she doesn’t have to deal with the aggressive Bláha to her left anymore.
