The winner of the $500,000 guarantee Sunday Warm-Up made the best of a second shot at a major win. Through over 11 hours of play and a three-way deal, chris288 would walk away with $70,566.48 and the win.

Read below how chris288 came from behind to claim this week’s title.

eijseijs was back again making a run for the final table much like in December. But, similar to the last attempt, eijseijs would have watch the spotlights from the rail in 17th place ($1,929.20).

WCOOP 2012 Event # 20 champ dirty.brasil was shooting for another Sunday Warm-Up final table after making it here two weeks ago. Unfortunately there would be no repeat this week after dirty.brasil ran big slick into kuzmich 525’s kings finishing in 14th place ($2,819.60).

In one of the longest stretches before the final table, our ten competitors battled for 30 minutes within hand-for-hand play. Yuri “theNERDguy” Martins made a play for a big pot at the end getting 2.5 million chips in good after a 8♣ J♣ 4♥ flop holding Jâ™  K♥ against elmelogno4’s Aâ™  8â™  . The 9♣ turn was helpful, the shocking A♦ river was not as Martins would not add a Sunday Warm-Up final table to his TCOOP, WCOOP, and SCOOP finishes.

Seat 1: C. Darwin2 (2101161 in chips)
Seat 2: elmelogno4 (7594702 in chips)
Seat 3: base30203 (2331589 in chips)
Seat 4: leon00333 (2856755 in chips)
Seat 5: NeverEnough5 (3371960 in chips)
Seat 6: chris288 (6888765 in chips)
Seat 7: kuzmich 525 (1999946 in chips)
Seat 8: giumas987 (637470 in chips)
Seat 9: StenSjolin (1897652 in chips)

Five hands into the final nine NeverEnough5 would slow play pocket queens Q♦ Q♥ and lull leon00333’s 10♣ 4♣ flopped middle pair 3♥ 8♣ 4♥ 9♦ Qâ™  into donating to the 5.4 million chip pot. Not a bad score of leon00333’s first major table, earning $4,748.80 in ninth place.

Closer to the tenth hourly break with the blinds at 80K/160K ante StenSjolin shoved 2.1 million chips along with a pair of eights 8♥ 8♦ as elmelogno4 made a quick call holding queens Q♥ Q♣ . Even quicker was StenSjolin’s chances of winning going from slim-to-none after the other two queens in the deck Q♦ Qâ™  A♣ J♣ 3♣ showed up on the flop. $7,716.80 for StenSjolin in eighth place as the last seven rolled on.

Shortly after the break base30203’s shortstack would be all-in preflop against NeverEnough5 and elmelogno4. After the turn A♦ 9â™  Q♥ J♦ NeverEnough5 decided that was enough and bet elmelogno4 out of the pot. NeverEnough5’s two pair A♥ Q♦ would survive the flush and straight draws K♦ 8♦ as base30203 claimed seventh place ($13,652.80).

elmelogno4 would get back into the mix, taking down kuzmich 525 in sixth place ($19,588.80) as NeverEnough5 proved card selection was mightier than natural selection after showing C. Darwin2 out in fifth place ($25,524.80).

The final four would chat a bit about a deal but nothing materialized as elmelogno4 took a temporary chip lead over chris288, giumas987, and NeverEnough5.

That chip lead did not last long as elmelogno4 got a little frisky with chris288. Holding 2♣ A♣ elmelogno4 tried to bump chris288 off big slick K♣ A♦ but instead was called. After the Q♥ 3♦ 5â™  9♦ 8♦ board 12.3 million chips headed to chris288 as elmelogno4’s decent began.

A few minutes later giumas987 would find aces A♥ A♠ at the right time, as elmelogno4 found queens Q♥ Q♣ at an equally inopportune time sending giumas987 13.4 million chips and eventually leading elmelogno4 to fourth place money ($34,132.00).

This time the players got serious about chopping up the remaining prize pool. Twenty minutes of chattering about who deserved what ended with the split below leaving $10,000.00 for our weekly champ.

giumas987: $73,000.00
NeverEnough5: $68,361.24
chris288: $60,566.48

Ten minutes into the 11th hour of play would be the last one for NeverEnough5. With the blinds up to 150K/300K ante 30K and nearly four million chips in preflop, chris288 would lead 2.4 million at a 5♥ 9♠ 10♦ flop. Holding 7.2 million behind NeverEnough5 shoved all-in with Q♦ K♣ . Middle pair 9♦ A♠ was enough for chris288 to make the call as NeverEnough5 failed to catch up on the 7♠ turn and 2♥ river ending the tournament in third place ($68,361.24).

chris288 was here to close the deal on a major title after getting heads-up in the TCOOP 2013 Event #21 and falling just short of the win.

Just six minutes into the heads-up match chris288 holding a 16.8 million to 12.8 million chip lead chris288 would three-bet preflop for 2.4 million as giumas987 made the call. A three spade 10â™  Qâ™  9â™  flop got chris288 to bet 2.44 million as giumas987 made a play for the pot by shoving 10.3 million holding a pair and a straight draw 9♥ J♥ . chris288 holding the nut flush draw 5♦ Aâ™  made the call. K♥ on the turn completed giumas987’s straight but the Jâ™  on the river made chris288’s flush. No second place this time as chris288 claimed the extra $10K and this week’s Sunday Warm-Up title!
