Home / Uncategorized / Monster Pot Report: Four of the biggest hands of all time

It was all guns blazing at the Play Money nosebleed stakes this week with no fewer than four hands entering the all-time top 10 biggest pots (with one subsequently being pushed down to 11th).

The biggest action was a result of several clashes between Italy’s ‘viziato1991’, America’s ‘GQ Jay29’ and a new face – ‘cENTULICA’ from Romania. All of their crazy action took place at the 2.5M/5M stakes.

In the biggest pot for the week it was ‘viziato1991’ that claimed the honours. Heads-up against the unfamiliar Romanian he was able to raise and bet his pocket aces all the way to a personal best of 3.89B chips. ‘cENTULICA’ had flopped a king with his KJ and couldn’t get away from such a juicy prize – the fourth biggest recorded pot to date

It was a swift role reversal from a hand just two hours earlier in which his KJ had managed to crack the aces of ‘GQ Jay29’. It was a much crueller hand though, as almost all of the 3.59B chips went in on the flop, with the aces leading. It was a third jack on the river that upset the odds – a two outer for the seventh biggest pot of all time (the aces were protected by a pair of fives on the flop).

The third biggest hand at those stakes is also worthy of mention, as it developed into a 3.44B beast. It was ‘cENTULICA’ involved again, but this time getting most of the chips in as a huge favourite, as his made straight with 5d4s extracted full value from the kings (an overpair) of ‘kipsas666777’. This was the hand nudged out of the top 10 Monster Pots by the previous two hands.

Meanwhile up at the 5M/10M game, ‘MoXpade’ claimed and clung onto his first spot on the all-time top 10. He flopped a Q high flush against ‘GQ Jay29’ and managed to get paid by a superior flush draw that never came. The total damage was 3.46B chips – just enough for tenth place.

Unusually, the biggest Omaha hand of the week was also generated at the 5M/10M games, which do not commonly run. ‘$0~Y0U~0$’ was playing heads-up with ‘Michael_9611’ when he found himself facing a simple call on the river with aces full of jacks. His opponent was trying to bluff his way out of a hole but instead gave up a 1.04B chip pot.

That biggest hand at 1M/2M stakes was also Omaha, and went to ‘UF_man3′. His 863M chip pot narrowly beat out the 858M chip No Limit Hold’em (NLHE) pot of ‘zub3135’ to top the table at that level.

Finally, the top hand for 500K/1M went to ‘jambo0101’, who took on all comers in a juicy 6-way hand of NLHE. At showdown his top pair with KdJc was enough to see off the busted flush of his opponent, allowing him to scoop the 484M chip hand.
