Uruguay’s OMGRubCasco appeared destined to win TCOOP Event #8 Big Antes. For the second half of the 4-hour and 39-minute turbolicious fracas, OMGRubCasco sat comfortably in front with the lead. OMGRubCasco cruised to the final table and amassed an impressive lead, but with four left in the hunt, HunTyMD went on a rush that took the Moldavian from the short-stack to the chip leader. Then it happened. HunTyMD shipped what the Scandis would call a “monsterpotten” by picking off two players in a single hand with pocket Jacks holding up in a double-elimination pot. When heads-up began, OMGRubCasco was behind almost 3-1 in chips, but the one-time front runner ran out of gas and busted thirteen hands later. With only a single bullet, HunTyMD took down this re-entry Big Antes event to become the newest TCOOP champion.

TCOOP Event #8 $82 NL Big Antes, Re-Entry attracted 5,673 runners. They created a prize pool worth $425,475.00 with 3,731 entries and an additional 1,942 re-entries. Only the top 720 players were paid out in Event #8, with a first-place prize of $66,560.52 originally set aside to the champion.

The money bubble burst in a mere two hours. Team Online Pessagno from Brazil fired three bullets but he narrowly missed the money cut after busting in 767th place. Greece’s Stavros “IDOLLS” Kalfas secured himself a cash after finishing in 414th place.

By the third hour, only 100 players remained with Uruguay’s OMGRubCasco the only person with a stack in excess of 1M. With 50 to go, OMGRubCasco continued to stay ahead of the pack with almost 3M, or twice as much as second place, but Chris “Moorman1” Moorman was lurking in the top 10 until the British pro met his fate in 28th place. With three tables to go, OMGRubCasco lost the lead momentarily to Finland’s lokki186. By the time action dwindled down to ten, OMGRubCasco chipped up to 5.5M and was back in first place. With ten to go and action hand-for-hand, ‘Chas3r.007 turned a Queen-high straight with Qâ™  10♦ to overcome Norway’s Palyse’s Ace-rag. That hand propelled ‘Chas3r.007 into second overall and Palyse bubbled off the final table in tenth place.

MERCY STREET: AAkraKKer eliminated in 9th place

AAkraKKer made a last-gasp stand on the fourth hand of the final table with 2â™  2♣ . Big-stacked OMGRubCasco picked AAkraKKer off with Q♥ 2♥ . OMGRubCasco rivered a pair of Queens when the board finished up A♦ K♣ 9♥ 5♦ Q♦ . Deuces no good. Denmark’s AAkraKKer became the first player to exit the final table and busted in ninth place, which paid out $3,403.80.

IN YOUR EYES: mic223 eliminated in 8th place

Another quick bustout on the very next hand when mic223 rumbled with big-stacked OMGRubCasco. mic223 bombed it all-in for 2,322,809 with Aâ™  J♣ , but OMGRubCasco won the race with 8♦ 8♣ when the board finished up 9♦ 6â™  4♥ 9♣ 7â™  and mic223 whiffed on any chances to pair up his overcards. Pocket ochos held up for OMGRubCasco and the rich got a little richer. The Czech Republic’s was knocked out in eighth place and earned $5,318.43.

THAT VOICE AGAIN: Nielsml eliminated in 7th place

The usual suspects. All-in preflop with pocket Queens versus Big Slick. The lovely ladies prevailed. HunTyMD open-shoved for 2,408,509 with Q♦ Q♥ , and short-stacked Nielsml called all-in for 893,899 with A♦ K♦ . Nielsml failed to catch an Ace or King on a board of 9♣ 6♥ 2♣ 9♥ 4♦ . Queens held up for HunTyMD. With an unimproved Big Slick, Nielsml hit the virtual rail in seventh place, which paid out $9,573.18.

With six players remaining, OMGRubCasco stack topped 13M, while lokki186 and patrick0^G were both shorties with approximately 1.5M.

RED RAIN: kropnicovic eliminated in 6th place

A pair of the medium stacks rumbled in another all-in pre-flop affair. In this saga, the middle pair failed to hold up against a suited Ace. ‘Chas3r.007 bombed it all-in for 4,944,011 with A♥ 9♥ and kropnicovic called all-in for 2,924,562 with 9♣ 9â™  . An Ace on the flop was the first nail in the coffin for kropnicovic, who desperately needed the case nine to stay alive. The board ran out A♦ 3â™  2♣ 7♥ 10♣ and ‘Chas3r.007 faded a one-outer to win the pot with a pair of Aces. Germany’s kropnicovic took home $13,827.93 for sixth place.

SLEDGEHAMMER: lokki186 eliminated in 5th place

How about a three-way hand involving pocket rockets? OMGRubCasco opened to 750,000, shorty lokki186 called all-in for 687,312. patrick0^G re-shoved for 1,109,154, and OMGRubCasco called.

patrick0^G: A♠ A♣
OMGRubCasco: J♥ 5♦
lokki186: K♦ 10♠

patrick0^G furthur improved on the flop with a set. GRubCasco flopped a gutshot Wheel draw, but never got there when the board ran out A♥ 3♥ 2♦ 10♣ Jâ™  . patrick0^G avoided an elimination and won both the main pot and the side pot with a set of Aces. Finland’s lokki186 was knocked out in fifth place, which paid out $18,082.68.

With four remaining, HunTyMD was the short stack with 3.3M and OMGRubCasco still retained the lead with 13.1M.

DON’T GIVE UP: patrick0^G eliminated in 4th place and ‘Chas3r.007 eliminated in 3rd place

How about two for the price of one? HunTyMD was already in the middle of a rush after going from the short stack to the big stack. But then the poker gods shined a little more love HunTyMD’s way. Three-way all-in. Short-stacked patrick0^G open-shoved for 1,585,620 with Kâ™  5♣ , ‘Chas3r.007 re-shoved for 8,716,165 with 7♣ 7♥ , but HunTyMD snap-called in the big blind with Jâ™  J♥ . The board finished up A♣ 8♣ 5â™  6♥ 3â™  and HunTyMD’s pocket Jacks held up. Short-stacked Austria’s patrick0^G was knocked out in fourth place, which paid out $24,039.33. Meanwhile, ‘Chas3r.007 from the Netherlands finished in third place and took home $35,101.68.

HEADS-UP: HunTyMD (Moldova) vs. OMGRubCasco (Uruguay)
Seat 2: HunTyMD (20,619,101)
Seat 3: OMGRubCasco (7,745,899)

After dragging that multi-way, double-elimination pot worth 19M, HunTyMD surged to over 20.6M. Despite the turbo-charged format, the final two did not broker a deal. They played on to the death. No money chop. No holds barred. The heads-up battle lasted 13 hands. OMGRubCasco won the first five hands and trimmed a 13M chip deficit to only 4M. Alas, HunTyMD won five out of the next eight hands and thwarted any comeback chance by OMGRubCasco.

BIG TIME: OMGRubCasco eliminated in 2nd place; HunTyMD wins Event #8!

Going into the final hand, HunTyMD held a 2-1 edge. The two did not waste any time and threw down when HunTyMD shoved for 18,804,336 with A♦ 7♣ and OMGRubCasco called all-in for 8,720,664 with A♠ 6♥ . The board ran out J♣ 9♦ 4♠ A♥ 3♣ . Both players turned a pair of Aces, yet OMGRubCasco lost out on a weaker kicker. Rough way to go, but HunTyM outkicked OMGRubCasco to win the pot and bink the tournament.

OMGRubCasco failed to go wire-to-wire with the win, but the Uruguayan finished in second place. For a valiant runner-up performance, OMGRubCasco earned $49,567.83.
