Home / Uncategorized / Monster Pot Report: Belgian now three times a billionaire

It’s now three weeks in a row at the top of the Monster Pot tables for Belgian high-roller ‘Sabz.wp’ – albeit this time in a tie with last week’s second-placed player ‘rosco2000239’ from Norway. The two Play Money behemoths combined for pot of 3.2B chips, when both made a broadway straight whilst holding KQ. The hand enters the all-time list of biggest recorded pots in 8th place.

It has been a big week for ‘Sabz.wp’ who moved to the top of the Billionaire Club World Rankings, after opting into the newly published list of the richest Play Money players at PokerStars. In total he has over 17B chips, placing him around 5B chips ahead of second place – the 2003 WSOP Champion Chris Moneymaker.

Next on the list of the week’s big hands is ‘MoXpade’ who sneaked over the 3B chip mark in another pot that involved ‘rosco2000239’. The two 5M/10M game regulars were very deep-stacked for the hand, to the point where they could build such a huge hand and not even reach a showdown. ‘MoXpade’ moved all in on the turn and ‘rosco2000239’ gave up on the hand. To date the biggest recorded pot without cards being shown, and 9th on the all time list.

The third largest pot was won by Italian player ‘viziato1991’ who has returned to the top games after an absence of several weeks. He took down a 2.86B chip after flopping three of a kind then improving to a full house on the river. His unfortunate opponent had made a slightly weaker full house on the turn and lost his entire stack in the final round of betting.

In total there were fourteen hands in excess of 2B chips for the week, with all but one taken down by the three players already mentioned. The last one went to ‘jula97’ from Germany, a new name for the Monster Pot Report.

The 2.5M/5M games were unusually quiet this week, with the top hand weighing in at 1.24B chips for the week. The winner ‘haha_toiletp’ got all his chips in with a set of nines against the nut flush draw. Not only did he dodge the flush, but he found the final nine on the river to drag the chips in with quads.

The top hand at the 1M/2M was, unusually, bigger than anything played as the stake above. It was won by ‘buddybubba’ who is currently the 3rd highest-ranked player in the world for play chip balance. The American held top pair with a strong kicker and was the beneficiary of an aggressively played straight draw that only improved to middle pair.

Those same stakes also play host to the biggest Omaha games, where it was ‘badsociety86’ who earned the biggest pot honour. He elected to play his broadway wrap as hard as possible on a raggy, rainbow board and the risk paid off as he improved to the nut straight. His aggression rewarded him with 1.37B chips.

Things were also a little quieter in the 500K/1M where ‘zvjerka1’ claimed the top spot for the week. His 633M chip pot was the result of a multi-way hand in which he held QQ and the board ran out with nothing higher than a jack.
