Thanks to the festive billionth tournament carnival crowd, the $500,000 guarantee Sunday Warm-Up would see a ten percent uptick from last week as 3,428 players created a $685,600 prize pool. ModzillaPL would cash in the billionth tournament for ($920.18 – 309th place) but enjoyed chopping this one more for $88K. CMRolfes1990 took the other part of the chop and the win. The German’s share was worth $99,398.64 after overcoming a big deficit heads-up.

Only 11 players remained nearing the ninth hourly break. Among the survivors was SCOOP 2012 and TCOOP 2014 Event #38 champ Simon ‘ministerborg’ Ravnsbaek looking to add another major victory at PokerStars.

Sunday Second Chance winner, ModzillaPL, was also looking to add a second Sunday Major victory. After TOPGUNSON1 busted in 11th place, with the blinds up to 65K/130K ante 13K extragloves would shove all-in for 1.62 million chips. ModzillaPL made the call holding Qâ™  A♥ . Racing against pocket nines 9♦ 9â™  , ModzillaPL’s hand found the necessary ace on the 4♥ Aâ™  10♣ 6♥ Q♣ board to start up the final table below:

Seat 1: K1ngdomCome (4142555 in chips)
Seat 2: CMRolfes1990 (1751415 in chips)
Seat 3: O”Pazzzo” (3444356 in chips)
Seat 4: Sergio “trujustrus” Cabrera (1305332 in chips)
Seat 5: QuadVQuadMe (1835525 in chips)
Seat 6: gardze_wami (4974698 in chips)
Seat 7: Nelis020 (3317904 in chips)
Seat 8: ModzillaPL (8117673 in chips)
Seat 9: Simon “ministerborg” Ravnsbaek (5390542 in chips)

ModzillaPL’s chip leading stack would grow during the 80K/160K ante 16K blind level at Ravnbaek’s expense. With the board showing 10♥ 5♣ 5♥ 3♥ 5♦ the Dane would call all of ModzillaPL’s bets only to muck when he was shown aces Aâ™  A♥ shipping the 7.1 million chip pot.

During the same blind level O”Pazzzo” used a higher kicker to eliminate QuadVQuadMe in ninth place ($5,484.80). QuadVQuadMe’s A♥ 3♣ hit a trey on the river, but thanks to the two nines on the flop 9♣ 9♥ A♣ 2â™  3â™  O”Pazzzo”‘s 10♥ Aâ™  would win the pot.

Two hands later another shortstack received the boot. SCOOP and Super Tuesday champ Sergio “trujustrus” Cabrera put his tournament life on the line with about five big blinds and pocket threes 3♦ 3♥ . gardze_wami made the call with fours 4♣ 4♥ eliminating Cabrera in eighth place ($8,570.00) after the 7♦ 2♥ A♦ 6♣ J♥ board brought no help.

Shortly after the tenth hourly break, K1ngdomCome would double up to 3.8 million chips at Nelis020’s expense. The dutch player was knocked down to under a big blind but found pocket jacks J♥ Jâ™  on the next hand. Nelis020 would shove the meager stack as CMRolfes1990 shoved for 3.5 million from the cutoff. CMRolfes1990’s aces Aâ™  A♥ would show Nelis020 the door in seventh place ($15,426.00).

O “No”

The tournament would say goodbye to another player ten minutes before the 11th hourly break. With the blinds up to 125K/250K ante 25K O”Pazzzo” shoved 2.63 million from the button as gardze_wami holding 3.7 million chips and 8♣ A♣ did the same from the small blind. The Q♥ 3♣ 7♦ 2♥ A♦ board did not help O”Pazzzo”‘s K♣ Jâ™  taking away $22,282.00 in sixth place.

Right call, wrong result

ModzillaPL’s massive stack would start pounding on the other player’s stacks as the blinds moved up to 150K/300K ante 30K. Simon ‘ministerborg’ Ravnsbaek caught one of these big stack shoves calling all-in with A♣ 10â™  . But, ModzillaPL’s 8♣ K♣ would flop two pair 8â™  2♥ K♥ 2♣ Q♦ sending $29,138.00 to Ravnsbaek in fifth place.

On the next hand gardze_wami also tried to get a strong ace to hold against the chip leader. After calling all-in from the big blind with A♦ J♣ and flopping an ace 8♥ Aâ™  3â™  , gardze_wami watched ModzillaPL’s 7â™  6â™  hit a flush on the turn 8â™  . gardze_wami collected $39,422.00 in fourth place after the 3♣ river.

CMRolfes1990 said it perfectly after someone clicked the “discuss a deal” button:

CMRolfes1990: I don’t think he wants to
CMRolfes1990: thank you for busting the others

But during the attempt to chop two minutes later, ModzillaPL wanted a little more than first place cash:

ModzillaPL: not a chance I take these numbers
ModzillaPL: I want 110

The other players politely refused to give ModzillaPL the extra cash, starting up the 12th hour of play.

On the second hand back from the break CMRolfes1990 and K1ngdomCome would combine their stacks. Both holding just over ten big blinds with the blinds at 200K/400K ante 40K, CMRolfes1990 would min-raise from the button as K1ngdomCome shoved in the big blind with pocket nines 9â™  9♦ . CMRolfes1990 called with jacks J♥ Jâ™  and won the 9.9 million chip pot after the 6♦ Qâ™  6â™  10♣ 8♣ board stayed clean. K1ngdomCome’s would receive $56,562.00 in third place.

Not going away yet

ModzillaPL’s 24.2 million to 10 million chip lead starting off heads-up play pointed towards a quick finish. However, on hand 14 CMRolfes1990 caught a stroke of luck. Things looked bleak for CMRolfes1990 with 21.7 million in the middle preflop and ModzillaPL holding a dominating kicker 10♣ A♥ to 4♣ A♣ . But, a four on the flop K♣ 4â™  7♥ 2â™  5♣ sent the chip lead across the table.

After the chips evened out a bit, Team PokerStars Pro Online Katerina Malasidou would help the players find mutual ground in the deal below leaving $10K for the winner:

CMRolfes1990: $89,398.64
ModzillaPL: $88,456.75

CMRolfes1990 would chip away at ModzillaPL’s stack after the chop. After gaining a 26.8 million to 7.4 million lead with the blinds up to 250K/500K ante 50K, CMRolfes1990 called ModzillaPL’s shove holding A♥ Q♣ . ModzillaPL would need a little magic with 8♦ 5♦ but only found a broken straight draw on the 10♦ 7♥ 7â™  6♥ A♣ board. After claiming the final pot, CMRolfes1990 took away $99,398.64 as this week’s Sunday Warm-Up champion!
